Please I want more. MORE?

Well you asked and here are some more traders, I know, I am too good to you.

Polka Dot House - The home of all things lovely.

We search high and low to find gorgeous things that you can't always find on the high street.

Something Old
We love all things vintage and lucky for you we are willing to part with them…well some of them. Here you will find the Polka Dot House ‘Finds’, things that we have found on our travels. From gorgeous glassware to colourful enamel, vintage books and unloved furniture that we have taken and re-loved. Because these items are often one of a kind we will usually only stock one of each but if you are keen for us to search for something particular, just give us a call.

Something New
We also stock some newer items which compliment our vintage and handmade goodies. Things for the home and garden, bits for the kids and some gorgeous bits of jewellery.

Something Handmade
There are some very clever people out there and we try hard to search them out and give them the chance to sell some of their handmade items through Polka Dot House. We select people with passion for what they do and a clear talent. You will not find these items in many other establishments.

Something Borrowed
Launched in February 2011, we also offer an exquisite collection of vintage crockery and glassware for you to hire from us, making your special occasion that little bit more special. We cater for events in East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Dorset, Surrey and London.

One year anniversary

Well today marks one year to the day Vintage and Very Nice traded at its first market.

The market was outside and unlike today was lovely and sunny, fresh flowers and music made this Portabello style market relaxed.

I was very stressed, would people actually want to buy what I had chosen with love and care, sewed until my fingers bleed.

Thankfully they did and we have gone from being a trader to a Market organizer.

Article celebration

Well after a really good article in The Observer today we decided on a treat here at VVN HQ.

Normally I am not seduced by the "colour it red, white and blue, slap a British stereotype character, make a dreadful pun to do with Great Britain, Jubilee or The Olympics and charge an extra few bob for it" brigade but I must say I was pulled in by the Marks GlacĂ© Cherry Iced Crown. It had pretty glacĂ© cherry jewels plus it was reduced.  So with some Clipper everyday it made a nice Afternoon Tea treat.

So what are you thoughts on the Brigade?

New dates for the Vintage and Very Nice Market Bazaar

Good news everyone!

After the success of our debut Market Bazaar on the 11th February we are pleased to announce more dates for the year.

Staying at the wonder Assembly rooms we will be having Market Bazaars on 19th May, 30th June, 28th July and 1st September.  With our vintage tea room making a return together with hairdressing, music and even more stalls we are really looking forward to bringing Chichester vintage scene to the fore.

We will always be free entry and encourage and help local sellers.

We are currently sorting through all the feedback forms, some as far away as the Cotswolds, to make sure the next Vintage and Very Nice Market Bazaar is even better.

Is Vintage over?

I took part in an online debate about whether Vintage was over, the result are below.  My comments are under Daryl Bowen, my name, funny that!  Click on the link and see what was said.
